The purpose of our Sunshine Committee is to express concern to any member who experiences a loss or an illness.
We send cards to members who need them and we make Sunshine Heart Quilts for any member who is seriously ill or hospitalized. If you know of a member who needs a card or quilt, please e-mail us at info@charlottequiltersguild.org - subject: Sunshine Heart Quilts.
We ask all members to contribute a few heart blocks each year. Here is what you need to do: on a 7-1/2" square of muslin, machine or hand-appliqué a heart of any size or shape. Be sure not to make it too big since the square will be cut down to a 7" block. Sign your block if you wish, and bring it to a Guild Meeting. (There will be a box or basket on the Membership table for them.) These small blocks are a great chance to practice your appliqué skills and try new embellishment techniques. These blocks are then made into lap-size quilts for members who need them.
